Welcome to the Isle of Whithorn!

A warm welcome to the Isle of Whithorn where ever you may be in the world!

We have had many lovely summer days in the village when locals and visitors have enjoyed walking, swimming, messing about in boats - or simply sitting watching the world go by! We are now officially into autumn but the sun is still shining (most of the time!) as it did for both the Gala and Hamefairin this year - see the reports in the News Pages

Hoping to visit the area one day? Then come on board our Introductory Tour to the Isle, then maybe browse the Map to get your bearings!

Remember too, that if there's something you'd like to know about this tiny little community in the far south-west of Scotland, please do e-mail us.

Many visitors to this site will have seen that we're now adding stories to the Isle News pages, sometimes on an almost daily basis. We can't promise you a new item every day, but we are determined to make this an area that you will want to come back to often! Please do tell your friends and colleagues about the website. We will try and respond to any questions you may have about the community.

Keep a lookout too for new pictures in the Isle Gallery. And, for those of you wanting to improve your local historical knowledge, we'll be continuing to build the website over the next few months, especially in the Isle Archive area, and your comments on that will always be most welcome.

Finally, a reminder that the quarterly magazine style Isle News appears in March, July, October and December each year. If you haven't already subscribed, make sure of your regular copy by downloading the subscription form.
