
The Isle of Whithorn

Liz Kiltie, Megan McCrone, and Kay Lewis, representing the Isle of Whithorn Youth Group were presented with a cheque from the Moderator of the Church of Scotland, the Right Reverand Albert Bogle at the Faith, Hope & Charity shop in Whithorn. The Isle Youth Group was one of four local groups to benefit from monies raised by the shop this year. The funds will be used to fund a trip to the panto.
This page features the interests and activities of younger people who live in and around the Isle of Whithorn.
Recently a group of interested parents with their youngsters began the task of organising fund raising for the building of youth shelters or 'PODs' in the village. Assisted with a grant from the Mid Galloway Area Committee of the Dumfries & Galloway Council, two POD's have now been constructed, with much voluntary help in construction given by parents.
The youngsters have been helping raise money too - this including running a sales stall at the Isle Hamefairin' Events, and undertaking local deliveries of Christmas Cards. A Junior section to the Isle's First Response Team has been formed, and seven youngsters have successfully completed the British Red Cross Basic First Aider course...
