Report on Autumn Fair 2012
Despite the extremely wet conditions, the Isle Autumn Fair, a new event for the Isle of Whithorn calendar proved to be a very successful day.As ever, residents from the Isle and surrounding communities supported the event and local businesses, some of whom have recently been established, were in attendance.
Visitors from further afield appreciated the friendly atmosphere and the opportunity to enjoy a day out. Some gift purchases were made ahead of the busy Christmas season.
Judging from the positive comments made by the exhibitors and the general public there is a good chance that we shall have the Autumn Fair on the calendar for years to come.
Isle Autumn Fair - Sunday 28 October 2012
The Isle Autumn Fair is a new event being held in St Ninian's Hall, featuring craft and food businesses run by local people. There will be a wide range of hand-crafted items on display, including ceramic ware, wooden toys, hand-made cards, patch work and quilted gifts, Christmas decorations, herbal products and soft furnishings.Local food produce on offer will include hand-made chocolates, a range of seasonal baking, confectionary and preserves.
Refreshments, including tea and coffee, will be available throughout the day and youngsters can have a go at a 'Lucky Dip'.
The Isle Autumn Fair provides an opportunity to enjoy a day out and be tempted to make some purchases before the busy Christmas rush arrives, perhaps.
