The Isle of Whithorn

Isle Hamefairin’ 2010

The Hamefairin' will be held on Sunday 4th. July 2010 from 10am. - 5pm.

Locally-brewed beers at the Isle of Whithorn Hamefairin'The Isle of Whithorn is gearing itself up once again for the annual Hamefairin’ – this tiny community’s renowned celebration of local food and crafts, now in its tenth year!

This year sees a change in the event’s timing. Following consultation it has been decided to make it a one day event on Sunday 4th. July 2010 from 10am to 5pm. (Note extended hours). There will be an American theme to the day's event.

St Ninian’s Hall, now controlled and being refurbished by the community, and the Village Green will be the focal point for a busy one day when food producers and craft makers will be bringing some of the best that can be found in the south-west.

Sample local food and drink...

We look forward to welcoming some new exhibitors and, as usual, there will be a wide range of locally reared meats, prepared foods, smoked products, Continental Deli products. Stan Ellis will speed over from the Isle of Man on Manx Voyager to bring a supply of Manx Kippers. On the sweeter side of life, there will be handmade chocolates. Sulwath bring their locally brewed beers. As in past years, it’s the early customers who get the best of the crop, but we know that the stallholders, some of whom have been coming to this event since it started in 2001 will be working hard to prepare plenty of good things for everyone.

Arts and crafts...

David Alexander, Brackland Pottery has been coming since the 1st. Hamefairin' , while Original Country Crafts and Bayview Nursery have attended for several years. There will also be crafters with their designer handbags, paintings, textiles, wooden crafts and CHAS Teddy Bears.

Floral arrangements will be on display and for sale. The big attraction this year will be " Can't Flower Arrange, Won't Flower Arrange." Bound to be hilarious!!
